What is the best fashion and design school in London?

I am looking at studying fashion design, but not sure which school I should go in London. I have heard of Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and Istituto Marangoni. I just want to know which school will give me the best employment prospect, so I need the school that I go to, to not only give me a good education and training but also the good industry contacts and networking opportunity so that I have a better chance of getting a job at a big fashion house after I graduate. Thank you.

St Martins without a doubt.

Have a look at the many great people it has made. It has an excellent reputation and because of that the final year fashion shows are always popular viewing, there have also been cases of fashion designers copying ideas of the some of the students at St Martins so bear this in mind.

Central Saint Martins absolutely , it is the best university for fashion design in england , stella mccartney , alexander mcqueen , john galliano , zac posen and many more have graduated from there ^^

How long does it take for fashion to change?

LIke before people used to have differnet kind of clothes, hairstyles and also personalities. But as fashion changes peoples personality changes also, how long does it normally take for fashion to change for example like 5 years back there wasnt that many girls/boys that used gel now everywhere you see there is bound to be gel used in hair.

So how long really will it take for fashion to change?

Thanks.

well actually its mostly the big clothes companies that change the fashion. really without even trying, but it can also be a popular person. but just make your own style... i mean it probably wont take that long for the fashion to change again. just wait a year or less!

Fashions change every half year, like spring/summer then to an autumn/winter

but as for things like gelled hair etc, it just depends really, things can phase out pretty quickly, like after a few months, or a year.

Then there are other things that last for a few years, even a decade or so!

It depends really.

I change my fashions uite frequently, maybe about every 5 months I decide to change my general look.

But usually, maybe it ranges from 2-6 years?? It really depends tbh.

Sorry my answer was crappy...

fashion changes everyday..

a new design is designed everyday..

its not about what people are wearing its how they're wearing it..

when the people decide that thats not cool anymore

What are good colleges that have fashion programs?

I'm interested in fashion and eventually want to have my own line and open up my own boutique, but I don't want to go to fashion school. My parents won't pay for it and I want the traditional college experience.

Are there any GOOD (big emphasis on that because academically I'm doing pretty well) colleges/universities that have fashion majors and programs?

well i just started going to school for fashion design. if u r n atlanta

1) american intercontinental university 2 campuses

2) bauder college

How do you start off working in the fashion industry?

I am extremely interested in all areas of fashion. I keep my nose in Allure, Elle, Cosmo, Vogue and the tabloids. I love celebrities and their apparel. How do you get your foot in the door of fashion? Fashion journalism (I'm a great writer), fashion consulting (I adore clothes, accesoriese, etc.) or just working for a magazine? Help! If you want to see some of my work, let me know.

OMG, If i wasn't taking accounting I would do the same..

try interning for the magazines, just tell them how dedicated u are and show good grades at school.

Teen Vogue is a good place to intern to

A great way to get involved in fashion is to join an online community. http://www.chictopia.com is an awesome fashion network that has had its users featured in publications such as TeenVogue, ElleSpain, and WWD. Its a great way to showcase your talent and love for fashion. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20070809095333AA48r1K&kid=NqZKIWD1UlCDVgJspHJW&s=comm&date=2008-10-21+16%3A01%3A50&.crumb=

Well, there is a number of ways and one of them is to work for a company like Macy's and they will send you to school if you apply and get approved. Then you could study fashion trends and become a buyer for a department store. There are a number of fashion schools or you could intern for a fashion magazine or company. It's all about starting small and getting noticed.

How can I build a fashion doll from scratch?

How can I go about making my own fashion doll molds?

I am interested in making my own 12" fashion doll because the really good ones that are for sale are SO EXPENSIVE. Does anyone know how can I go about making my own fashion doll molds using plastic, rubber or other materials? I am not interested in transforming a doll that is already made, but starting from scratch. Serious replies only. Thanks.

There are doll making magazines that can help you with that, I believe one is called Doll Crafter.

But I think that making your own would be way more expensive than buying them...and yes, I do know the price of modern fashion dolls!

I admire your ambition, but I think you need to find out what's all involved, it might be a bigger task than you think!

What is a good fashion magazine for preteens?

I am a preteen and i have a hard time finding nice sites fit for my age. Most sites have a age limit. I am a aspiring fashion designer and would like a magazine with as follows: the latest fashion trend and top wear for the season, cool accessories, fashion tips and make-up tips. Optional:Quizzes. Thanks.

there are lots of magazines for teens/preteens ! such as , seventeen , cosmo girl , teen Vogue ,Girl's Life Magazine , Twist ,allure

J-14 , Elle Girl , Teen , plus many more !

here are some good websites for magazines below !

A great way to start out in fashion is to become a part of an online community. http://www.chictopia.com has no age limit and has had a some of its users featured in TeenVogue, ElleSpain, and WWD. It also is a great source of fashion inspiration and a place to showcase your designs. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20080911121710AAKiCNt&kid=NqZKIWD1UlCDVgJspHJW&s=comm&date=2008-10-21+15%3A59%3A24&.crumb=

I personally think that seventeen is perfect. It doesn't have super expensive things like Teen Vouge. J-14 or anything like that rarely talks about or shows fashion. So unless you want to see Disney Channel stars, I'd stick to Seventeen. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20080911121710AAKiCNt&kid=DsZUIkrCOFg4eG5fGUfw&s=comm&date=2009-03-22+12%3A48%3A45&.crumb=

How do fashion designers forcast fashion and how many season ahead do they do it for?

I just wondered how fashion designers etc do this. I am curious as I hear about it all the time but wanted more information.

they are the ones who create the fashion, they design the trends. it's high street brands and people in advertising who do the forecasting, based on what the lovely designers give them.

they normally design a two seasons ahead. but they only come out on the catwalks one season before.

so the spring/summer collection will come out in winter. but the designers will be on the next autumn/winter collection.

The try to set the Fashion rather than forecast it

If they know a warehouse load of free blue cloth is going to be available next year -- good chance they will be trying to get everyone wearing blue

They also watch what films will be coming to the cinemas - these can influence fashion and taste too.
